Help for Homeowners
Do you have a mortgage foreclosure problem?
- Have you missed one or more of your mortgage loan payments, or expect to in the near future?
- Are you receiving calls from your mortgage lender because of late payments?
- Have you received a letter from your mortgage lender or its attorney threatening foreclosure because of missed payments?
- Have you received a notice of foreclosure sale and are wondering if there is any help to prevent the loss of your home?
There is help available. Let us show you how to contact a certified housing and foreclosure counselor who will assist you in resolving your mortgage problem. These counselors are available to help you and are funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
MMFPA was created by housing counselors for housing counselors in 1991 because of the shortage of agencies that could help homeowners facing foreclosure. Financial counselors were presented with homeowners who had a variety of housing and mortgage default problems, who were looking for answers and advice, and finding there were few counselors who had the training and experience to assist them in finding solutions.
MMFPA provides education and training materials and case studies for counselors to review. We will also be providing a forum for counselors to exchange ideas, strategies, and share successes with one another.
